
After spending some years at the Department of Art History at Vienna University, Georg went on to pursue cinematography at the Filmcollege Vienna. His graduation film, LIEBLING (Dir: Sebastian Schmidl), was nominated for the First Steps Award in Germany and achieved success at numerous film festivals.
His work on the medium-length film FABIU (Dir: Stefan Langthaler) earned him awards for best
cinematography in Sulmona (Italy), Balneário Camboriú (Brazil) and Shots Film Festival in Slovenia, as well as a nomination at Camerimage in Poland. His feature film debut ZERSCHLAG MEIN HERZ (Dir: Alexandra Makarovà) was released in Austrian cinemas in 2019 and won the Romy Award for best production.
His most recent feature film PERLA (Dir: Alexandra Makarovà) premiered in the Tiger Competition at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in 2025 and has won the audience award at the Diagonale in Graz.
Georg is a member of the Association of Austrian Cinematographers (AAC) and the Austrian Film Academy, he lives in Vienna.
