Maria Schicker
Maria Schicker, an experienced costume designer from the Berlin avant-garde scene of the 80s, returned to Germany in 2013 after a 20-year stay in the USA. Her costume designs for film and TV have been nominated and exhibited numerous times, including for KUDAMM 56 and DAS GEHEIMNIS DES TOTENWALDES, which both won the Fernsehpreis. She has received an EMMY nomination for her work in HITLER: THE RISE OF EVIL and a Costume Designers Guild nomination.
In 2008 she was OSCAR pre-nominated for DARK STREETS and received the Special Jury Prize at the CINE-VEGAS FILM FESTIVAL for her visual splendour and showmanship.
The Academy Of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences has shown her designs for the film EXTREME OPS in exhibitions in Japan and Canada.
She also worked on costumes for STEREO and FRIENDSHIP!.
Maria Schicker's costumes for KUDAMM'59 are part of the 100 Years of UFA exhibition at the Filmmuseum Berlin.
